Growing up in South Africa, Yaya’s life revolved around sport. Excelling in field hockey and track and field, her talent earned her a scholarship to the University of Charleston in the United States. But over time, her passion shifted from competing in sport to training purely for the love of movement. That’s where she discovered the gym — and it became so much more than just a place to work out. For Yaya, fitness isn’t only about physical strength. She’s faced her own battles with mental health, and during her toughest moments, training was what kept her moving forward. As she puts it, “It taught me how to control what I can and leave what I cannot.” This philosophy has shaped the way she trains and the way she coaches, showing that movement is a powerful tool not just for the body, but for the mind. Now based in Texas, Yaya is bringing her experience, energy, and passion to EvolveYou. Her program Elevate is designed to prove that progress doesn’t require endless exercises or hours in the gym — just smart, efficient training built on consistency and intent. Yaya’s mission is to help women build strength, discipline, and confidence that carry far beyond the workout itself.
